Publishing

Publishing the Bible was the main reason for the founding of the Bible Council, but between 1991 and 2005 it remained its most important commission. After 1990 we produced as many as 40 thousand Bibles a year because of the high demand for the Word of God. Half of these were the revised Károli and the other half the Protestant New Translation. These days, the New Translation is bought more often. Its text is more "reader-friendly" and certainly more easily understood by the younger generations.
There are many other publications that serve the cause of mission with the Bible in focus.
