Support

While previously the work of the Bible Society had been supported by the United Bible Societies we helped through her church districts (parishes) the Hungarian Reformed Church to receive Bibles for free. Since the mid 90s the financial support of our work comes entirely through the member churches, ex. in the case of the Reformed Church of Hungary it is the annual collection received on Scripture-Sunday in churches.
Such system of support makes it no longer possible for us to distribute Bibles free of charge. Thus we use the method of many non-profit organisation in doing some fundraising. Individual supports though are not spent on the running of the Hungarian Bible Society, but we use it to help our member churches by giving away free Bibles twice a year, extending it to the work of mission done by the Reformed Church of Hungary.
These events are widely publicised and churches are informed in advance through our newsletters and our leaflet "Our Bible".
